The value of working with a coach:

Process:

I typically recommend to clients that we start with 6 sessions, which allows time to establish the goal of the coaching programme, and to work towards achieving it. The services below touch on the themes and typical areas I cover; however all coaching sessions/programmes are tailored to individual needs.

  • This 1:1 programme supports recently promoted leaders, or those grappling with change in their role/organisation.

    • Starting with a Hogan Assessment/debrief session (90 mins) will provide you with data and insight on how you are likely to be perceived by others on a good day (your strengths), and how others are likely to see you when you’re under pressure/stressed/tired/bored or unable to self-regulate (your ‘derailers’). These assessments will also illuminate your occupational values and preferences (e.g. the type of environment that you may look to create in your team and/or seek out in an organisation).     • There is an option to supplement or replace the Hogan Assessment with a 360-degree feedback report. This tool provides an opportunity for your supervisor, peers and team members to provide feedback on your leadership performance. I work with the Primary Colours® 360 Feedback Report, which asks participants to rate performance against three key leadership domains (strategic, operational, interpersonal), and the key tasks that fall within them. The report also looks at how you cope under pressure. Find out more below.

    • Armed with data from the Hogan and/or 360 report, in the remaining 5 coaching sessions, we’ll set goals for our work together and explore your current situation/leadership challenges.

    • This programme aims to help you better understand your leadership style, build resilience, and focus on the areas that will have the greatest impact - with data, tools and support to help you operate at your best.

  • This 1:1 coaching programme is designed to help you:

    • Feel clear, confident and better resourced to take the next step in your career

    • Recognise and reconcile the conflicting emotions that often come into play during tough times in our career

    • Get clarity on the values that are most important to you - and how to work in alignment with them

    • Explore ‘purpose’ in your career

Leadership assessment & tools

I always recommend using at least one diagnostic tool as part of the coaching process. The data and insights generated through these tools will give you different perspectives on your performance and behaviour. This can be powerful to consider alongside your own experience and interpretation of events. I work with the Primary Colours® 360 Feedback Report and Hogan Assessments, which I am certified to interpret.

Hogan Assessments

Hogan is a trusted name in the field of personality/leadership assessment, used by leading companies worldwide. The assessments can help companies and individuals across a range of areas, including:

Primary Colours® 360 Feedback Report

I work with Edgecumbe’s proprietary Primary Colours 360 Feedback Report, which provides leaders with multi-dimensional insights from various stakeholders, including their team, peers, and supervisors. This feedback helps leaders understand how they are perceived within the organisation, and when used as part of a coaching programme, can help individuals to create more targeted and effective developmental plans. At the organisational level, these reports will help to:

  • Demonstrate the impact of existing leaders on individuals/teams/the organisation

  • Identify potential future leaders

  • Develop/enhance leadership programmes and measure their impact

  • Offer insight on your employees’ perspective on leadership

  • Demonstrate how your leaders show up in comparison to benchmark groups

  • Highlight what is required to develop individual leaders and leadership teams

  • Track an individual’s development over time
