Process & Programmes

The value of working with a coach:

  • a confidential space for you to reflect on professional challenges and opportunities as they emerge

  • an opportunity to understand your strengths and blind spots as a leader

  • a sounding board; someone with whom you can develop and test out new ideas and strategies, clarify your thoughts, and uncover new perspectives

  • accountability; someone to help ensure you remain on track to achieve what’s most important to you

Process:

I typically recommend to clients that we start with 6 sessions (60 or 90 minutes each), which allows time to establish what goals you’d like coaching to help you achieve, and to work towards achieving them. The 1:1 coaching programmes and leadership assessments below highlight the areas that are usually covered over the course of 6 sessions; however all programmes are tailored to individual needs.

Leadership assessment & tools

If you’re looking to gain a deeper understanding of your reputation/how others perceive you at work, your strengths, motivations, values, blind spots and potential career ‘derailers’, I work with the assessments and feedback tools below. These tools provide an additional layer of data and insight to consider during coaching, as you look to better understand your leadership style and your impact.

Hogan Assessments

(Available from March 2025)

Hogan is a trusted name in the field of personality/leadership assessment, used by leading companies worldwide to improve performance, leadership, and team dynamics - as well as to inform recruitment decisions. With the world’s largest database of personality research, Hogan can tell you things like, what it takes to succeed in a job role, from entry level to C-Suite, and which candidates will create the culture you’re seeking in your organisation. Individuals completing the assessments can also them to get clearer on their strengths and weaknesses, underlying values and motivators, and even career “derailers”.

Primary Colours 360 Feedback Report

I work with Edgecumbe’s proprietary Primary Colours 360 Feedback Report, which provides leaders with multi-dimensional insights from various stakeholders, including their team, peers, and supervisors. This feedback helps leaders understand how they are perceived within the organisation, and when used as part of a coaching programme, can help individuals to create more targeted and effective developmental plans. At the organisational level, these reports will help to:

  • Demonstrate the impact of existing leaders on individuals/teams/the organisation

  • Identify potential future leaders

  • Develop/enhance leadership programmes and measure their impact

  • Offer insight on your employees’ perspective on leadership

  • Demonstrate how your leaders show up in comparison to benchmark groups

  • Highlight what is required to develop individual leaders and leadership teams

  • Track an individual’s development over time

The questionnaire/report is based on The Primary Colours® Model of Leadership, developed over 25 years of research led by Professor David Pendleton.
